If you had just found my series of articles, my name is still Zs\u00f3fia N\u00e9meth, but my childish self in my little wonderland refers to myself as \u201eZs\u00f3fia the Beautiful\u201d, because I underwent an 18-month Invisalign treatment, and I told you the story of it.<\/p>\n
In previous articles, I've already described how I managed to grow crooked and gappy teeth, then I visited the NaturaDent clinic, where they designed a futuristic orthodontic brace for me that even Alad\u00e1r M\u00e9zga would have envied.<\/p>\n
After I last summarised my experiences of the first week or two of treatment for the readers, the moment has now arrived to report on the results, because I can hardly believe it myself, but after 18 months everything has changed.<\/p>\n
There were difficulties, but I persevered until the end.
\nEighteen months is a very long time in human terms. In that time, my hairstyle changed at least twice, and I wore out about three pairs of shoes, but I wore the braces with extreme perseverance after the initial successes.<\/p>\n
It would be a shame to deny it: there was a time when I wished the whole thing to hell. Not seriously, of course, but when you have stressful days and everything is weighing on your shoulders, you tend to break the rules, but I couldn't do that with Invisalign.<\/p>\n
I wore them even when I was sick, brushed my teeth even if it was the seventh time that day because it was a snacking-book-reading autumn, but the visible changes and the knowledge that I could take them out for at least a few minutes at any time were always empowering.<\/p>\n
I can't imagine how I would have managed all of this with traditional braces. At least I could take these aligners out when I'd had enough of everything, and then, after I'd had my fill, everything could continue.<\/p>\n
I didn't give up, and I wasn't just motivated by the fact that I'd paid for it and had to see it through, but also because there was a constant light at the end of the tunnel: once the 18 months were up, the gaps between my teeth would be gone forever!<\/p>\n

\nAnd they\u2019ve disappeared! We\u2019ve skipped forward a great deal in time now, but just as I, I\u2019m sure the readers are also curious as to what the end result will be. If I have to answer briefly, I\u2019ll say it\u2019s perfect!<\/p>\n
If you'd like more detail, I still can't really write anything else, which is mainly due to me being biased. And I'm not denying it. You see, the gap between my front teeth, which simply disappeared in 18 months, has negatively affected my life since childhood.<\/p>\n
Looking back, these 18 months weren't long at all. They flew by in the blink of an eye, as if a little gnome had come into my room at night, waved his magic wand, and my teeth were immediately in place.<\/p>\n
I couldn't imagine myself like this before, I'm still learning that I can smile with confidence, that I don't have to cover my mouth, and my confidence is starting to come back. I even flirted a little with the pizza delivery guy the other day, and that wasn't really my style!<\/p>\n
Although I can't say why, I was afraid that my teeth would look artificial after Invisalign treatment, as if they weren't my own. However, this fear proved unfounded; on the contrary, I can now see what my smile should have looked like all along.<\/p>\n
Like a teddy bear: I still need it at night!
\nThe braces have not only restored the gap between the front teeth, but also the congestion. I wrote earlier that I was completely unaware of this, that I didn't notice that my teeth were a little tighter than they should have been.<\/p>\n
In hindsight, however, there were signs I hadn't noticed. For example, in the region in question I often had inflamed or sore gums, which I could not explain. I now know that it was because of this and I am happy to report that I have not experienced it once since the treatment.<\/p>\n
The last consultation was actually incredibly liberating, even my dentist was as pleased with me as if I'd just won a Grammy. However, it wasn't some award or statuette that brought tears to my eyes, but two photographs.<\/p>\n
One was taken at the beginning of the treatment, and the other was taken recently, at the end. In the first, I saw a childhood full of grievances, and in the latter, the vision of a confident woman with no obstacles ahead of her.<\/p>\n
Of course, the treatment is not completely over yet, so to keep my teeth from moving back, I have to wear the last splint at night for a while, but I can honestly say that it is not a bother at all anymore, as I usually sleep at night and I have no trouble at all resting with braces.<\/p>\n
Was it worth it?
\nThe big question that readers have probably been waiting for since my first letter: was it worth it? Yes! In every respect!<\/p>\n
It is true that Invisalign is not the cheapest orthodontic technique available, but I am sure that as an adult, I would have been unable to tolerate a permanently fixed solution. I needed to be able to remove it for at least a few minutes \u2013 at least when eating.<\/p>\n
The treatment didn't hurt at all, it didn't cause any problems at work - and believe me, I talk a lot - and I didn't really feel any big disadvantages in everyday life, except maybe that I couldn't eat with it, but in return my teeth are better than ever.<\/p>\n
Not only did it solve my problems, but because of more frequent brushing, my teeth seem whiter and healthier. Of course, I might just be imagining that as well, adding it to my perfect smile, but allow me this much bias.<\/p>\n
It may be a trite clich\u00e9, but it really changed my life. I am a different person physically and mentally, I have a trace of self-confidence, in short, it is worth every penny, every minute.<\/p>\n
