How does a home teeth whitening procedure work?
- Your teeth have already been cleaned with LED light or laser teeth whitening
- We will make an impression of your teeth
- Based on your impression, we will make you a special, custom-made splint, shaped to your teeth
- Dental hygienist our colleague will show you how to use the splint and how to apply and dispense the special home whitening gel
- You fill the splint with whitening gel at home, in the comfort of your own home, even while watching a movie in the evening, and place it on your teeth as recommended
- The special whitening gel starts to work: the oxygen produced by the decomposition of urea peroxide penetrates the tooth enamel and dentin and whitens the discoloured areas
- you can take the splint off after 15-20 minutes of wearing
- It is recommended to do this process 3 times in total, once a day for 3 days for a perfect effect
Very rarely, heat sensitivity may occur during bleaching. This only occurs in very sensitive teeth and is a temporary phenomenon. It disappears completely a few days after home whitening.
